Frame Your Bathroom Mirror Yourself
A framed mirror can add instant style to your bathroom, and it's a relatively easy DIY project that can be completed in a few hours. Here's what you need to know to frame your bathroom mirror yourself:
Materials:
- Mirror
- Frame
- Mirror clips
- Wood glue
- Screws
- Drill
- Screwdriver
- Level
Instructions:
- Choose a mirror and frame. The mirror should be the same size or slightly smaller than the frame. The frame should be wide enough to cover the edges of the mirror and should complement the style of your bathroom.
- Attach the mirror clips to the frame. Mirror clips are small metal brackets that hold the mirror in place. Place the clips around the edges of the mirror, about 1 inch from the edge. Use wood glue to secure the clips to the frame.
- Place the mirror in the frame. Carefully place the mirror in the frame, aligning the edges of the mirror with the edges of the frame. Use a level to make sure that the mirror is hung straight.
- Secure the mirror to the frame. Use screws to secure the mirror to the frame. Drive the screws through the mirror clips and into the frame. Be careful not to overtighten the screws, or you could crack the mirror.
- Hang the framed mirror. Use a drill to create two holes in the wall, about 16 inches apart. Insert two screws into the holes and hang the framed mirror on the screws.
Tips:
- If you're not sure what size frame to choose, measure the mirror and add 2 inches to each side.
- If you're using a heavy mirror, use more mirror clips to support the weight.
- Be careful when drilling the holes for the screws. Make sure that you don't drill into the mirror.
- If you're not comfortable framing the mirror yourself, you can hire a professional to do it for you.
Framing your bathroom mirror yourself is a great way to add a personal touch to your bathroom. With a little planning and effort, you can create a beautiful framed mirror that will complement your bathroom décor.
