How to Fit a Wing Mirror Glass

Safety First

Before you start, it's important to take some safety precautions. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine. Wing mirrors are electrical components, so disconnect the battery to prevent any accidents.

Tools You'll Need

You won't need any special tools to fit wing mirror glass. A flat-head screwdriver or a plastic pry tool will do the trick. However, if your wing mirror has a heating element, you will need to use a soldering iron to reconnect the wires.

Removing the Old Wing Mirror Glass

With the safety precautions in place and the necessary tools at hand, you can start removing the old wing mirror glass. Carefully insert the flat-head screwdriver between the glass and the housing and gently pry it loose. If your wing mirror has an integrated heating element, disconnect the wires before removing the glass.

Installing the New Wing Mirror Glass

Once the old wing mirror glass is removed, you're ready to install the new one. Make sure that the new glass is the correct size and shape for your wing mirror. Apply a small amount of adhesive to the back of the glass and carefully position it in the housing. Press firmly on the glass to secure it in place.

Reconnect the Wires (If Necessary)

If your wing mirror has a heating element, you will need to reconnect the wires before reconnecting the battery. Use a soldering iron to solder the wires together and then insulate them with electrical tape.

Reattaching the Wing Mirror and Reconnecting the Battery

Once the wires are reconnected (if necessary), you can reattach the wing mirror to the door. Tighten the bolts or screws securely and then reconnect the battery.
