How to Make Your Own Lighted Makeup Mirror
A lighted makeup mirror is a must-have for any beauty enthusiast. It provides bright, even lighting that helps you see your face clearly, so you can apply your makeup flawlessly. But lighted makeup mirrors can be expensive, especially if you want one with all the bells and whistles. If you're on a budget, you can easily make your own lighted makeup mirror at home with a few simple materials.
Materials you'll need:
- A mirror
- LED strip lights
- A power supply
- A frame (optional)
- Screws or nails (optional)
Instructions:
1. Choose a mirror. The first step is to choose a mirror for your project. You can use any size or shape of mirror, but a larger mirror will give you more space to work with. If you're using a framed mirror, you'll need to remove the frame before you begin.
2. Attach the LED strip lights. Once you have your mirror, it's time to attach the LED strip lights. Start by measuring the length of the mirror and cutting the LED strip lights to size. Then, peel off the backing of the LED strip lights and stick them to the back of the mirror. Make sure the LED strip lights are evenly spaced and that they're not touching each other.
3. Connect the power supply. Once the LED strip lights are in place, it's time to connect the power supply. The power supply will provide the electricity that the LED strip lights need to operate. To connect the power supply, simply plug one end of the power supply into the wall outlet and the other end into the LED strip lights.
4. Add a frame (optional). If you want, you can add a frame to your lighted makeup mirror. This will give your mirror a more finished look and protect the LED strip lights from damage. To add a frame, simply screw or nail the frame around the edge of the mirror.
5. Enjoy your new lighted makeup mirror! Once your lighted makeup mirror is complete, you can start using it to apply your makeup. The bright, even lighting will help you see your face clearly, so you can apply your makeup flawlessly.
Tips:
- If you're using a large mirror, you may need to use more than one LED strip light.
- You can use different colors of LED strip lights to create a different look for your mirror.
- If you're not sure how to wire the LED strip lights, you can consult with an electrician.
