How to Replace Side View Mirror Glass on a Ford F150

Replacing the side view mirror glass on a Ford F150 is a relatively simple task that can be completed in about 30 minutes. Here are the steps on how to do it:

1. Gather your tools. You will need a flat-head screwdriver, a Phillips-head screwdriver, and a new side view mirror glass.

2. Remove the old side view mirror glass. Grip the glass and pull it straight out of the mirror housing. There will be some resistance, but the glass will eventually come free.

3. Remove the screws from the mirror housing. There will be two screws located on the back of the mirror housing. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws.

4. Pull the mirror housing off of the door. Once the screws have been removed, you can pull the mirror housing straight off of the door.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector. There will be an electrical connector located on the back of the mirror housing. Use your flat-head screwdriver to pry the connector apart.

6. Remove the old mirror glass from the housing. The old mirror glass will be held in place by two clips. Use your flat-head screwdriver to pry the clips open and remove the mirror glass.

7. Install the new mirror glass into the housing. Align the new mirror glass with the clips in the housing and push it into place until it snaps into place.

8. Reconnect the electrical connector. Plug the electrical connector back into the back of the mirror housing.

9. Reinstall the mirror housing onto the door. Align the mirror housing with the holes on the door and push it into place until it snaps into place.

10. Install the screws into the mirror housing. Use your Phillips-head screwdriver to tighten the screws into the mirror housing.

11. Test the mirror. Adjust the mirror so that it provides a clear view of the rear of the vehicle. The mirror should now be fully functional.
