Materials Required:

Stainless steel surface
Sandpaper (120-grit, 220-grit, 400-grit, 600-grit)
Rotary tool or bench grinder
Buffing wheels (coarse, medium, fine)
Buffing compound (green, white, black)

Preparation

Begin by thoroughly cleaning the stainless steel surface to remove dirt and debris. Use a degreasing agent to remove any oils or lubricants.

Sanding

Start sanding the surface with 120-grit sandpaper in a circular motion. Gradually move to finer grits (220, 400, 600) until you achieve a smooth, satin finish. Use ample water to lubricate the sandpaper and reduce clogging.

Polishing

Attach a coarse buffing wheel to your rotary tool or bench grinder. Apply a thin layer of green buffing compound and begin polishing the sanded surface. Use a light touch and even pressure, moving the wheel in small, overlapping circles.
